FLOURYSH Joins Shopify

As previously reported by AfroTech, the eCommerce platform is all about supporting Black brands to thrive in the market. To further its mission, FLOURYSH has teamed up with Shopify for the Build Black Initiative to elevate one million Black-owned businesses, according to a press release.

“The partnership came to be because of our continued commitment to providing resources and network access to our FLOURYSH community,” FLOURYSH co-founder Steve Canal recently shared with AfroTech. “We make it a priority to align our business with strategic partners who have common interests and goals. Every day we focus on how we can foster the discovery and growth for the brands on our platform.”

He continued: “Data alone tells you that Shopify is a leader when it comes to eCommerce. Their recent commitment to the Black community, as well as their commitment to doing more in action than talking, made a partnership with them a priority for us. During our initial meetings, we both understood by working together, we would help elevate Black-owned businesses by alleviating some of the common pain points insights have shown to continue being a problem yearoveryear.”

Resources For The Free.99

The new partnership gives Black business owners access to a 120-day free trial, the press release details. Within the four months, the resources provided will feature educational programming, tools, and expert tips. Businesses also have the opportunity to grow with the help of Shopify’s “Build Black Community,” where they can learn from fellow merchants both virtually and in person.

Additionally, according to Canal, FLOURYSH is set to highlight brands on its platform with the purpose of “unlocking our content engine, which will provide storytelling and media opportunities.”

Just The Beginning Of Black Business Month

While the Build Black Initiative is in high gear, things are only just getting started for FLOURYSH, which has a lot in store for Black-owned businesses.

“We launched our Instagram Live weekly series (every Tuesday, 7 p.m. E.T.) hosted by myself and FLOURYSH co-founder and creative director, Enitan Bereola. We are also highlighting a new brand every day for the month on our social channels, launching the FLOURYSH ‘Road to ONE Musicfest’ product features, Hennessy ‘Never Stop Never Settle’ inaugural cohort brand features, and a couple more major announcements dropping this month that we can’t wait to share.”
